Description
An R&D Specialist/Innovation Strategist utilizes their skills to evaluate an organization's products, future concepts, business processes, and information technology infrastructure to develop methods for improvements.
The focus is to get well ahead of our competitors and first to the markets with fresh ideas, to enhance the customer experience, and increase revenue. Manage the process by working with other leaders to create an overall vision, strategy roadmaps, timelines, budgets, technology selection, and teaming partners. The impact of this role is identifying new technologies and approaches, generate intellectual capital, and perform business development activities to help the firm grow its business.

Mon - Fri
7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (can be flexible)
Travel
As needed for company business, conferences and tradeshows.

Job Requirements
- Significant and relevant work experience in creating and deploying innovation initiatives will be critical.
- Experience in managing cross-functional teams especially in a technical or packaging environment will be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills are an essential asset, as responsible for developing strategies to improve an organization's performance
- Knowledge of design thinking concepts
- Curiosity, creativity, risk-taking, and collaboration
- Make a difference within the company

- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word apps
- Be a team player with strong discipline
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Liaise with vendors on negotiations that affect new product development
- Encouraging cooperation among internal departments to ensure alignment
- Collect, process and interpret data
- Develop input and modeling
- Examining market trends to assist in developing ways for the organization to remain competitive
- Provide great communication skills, high motivation and target dates to Dir. of Eng.
- Develop and measure progress through metrics and tangible goals
- Produce timely and descriptive plans, summaries, and status reports
- Works cross functionally to improve companywide
- Curiosity and understanding of all engineering disciplines
- Travel frequently on co. business & attend conferences/tradeshow
