Description

The role of a Technical Writer/Corporate Trainer is to pioneer the technical manual creation for our customized machines and will be key in the growth of the department and company working with our leaders and technical teams to optimize their knowledge of our tools, systems, and approach. The Technical Writer / Corporate Trainer will have the opportunity to work autonomously to grow the department and chart a course for success into multiple areas of our company. This is a hands-on role where the work influences both the success of our internal teams on a corporate and personal level, and our growing customer base. The Technical Writer/Corporate Trainer will develop and measure progress through metrics and tangible goals to achieve organizational excellence.

Mon - Fri

7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (can be flexible)

 

Travel

Minimal to moderate as required.

Job Requirements

  • At least 1 – 2 years of technical writing experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or technical school or work equivalent
  • Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Packaging design/manufacturing experience
  • Working/operational knowledge of CAD
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proactive, integrity-driven, and reliable

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Writes and creates templated manuals for customized manufacturing machines.
  • Develops a library of resources regarding the optimization of internal machines and best practices.
  • Supports employees through timely development of resources to minimize downtime and increase ramp-up time to the usability of new machines.
  • Motivates employees and builds team morale.
  • Identifies problems and escalates accordingly.
  • Develops the department and position with the support of the executive team.
  • Develops and presents in-house training materials for our internal stakeholders.
  • Communicates with transparency.
  • Focuses 30% - 40% of time on creating templated manuals.
  • Develops technical resources for customized machines
  • Attends meetings to keep informed of manufacturing and new development needs and priorities and provides analytical information and expertise.
  • Writes, formats, edits, reviews, and proofs procedural and technical information for technical and non-technical users.
  • Collates and presents training materials for internal employees
  • Maintains a library of application documentation, cataloging for internal/external use.
  • Gathers and analyzes technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality.
