Description

The position of VP of Finance presents a challenging and rewarding position and heavily contributes to Viking’s success. The VP of Finance is responsible for processing the financial activities to maximize the company's profits and plans for growth. The role includes analyzing data and advising the executive team on ways to use that information to make strategic decisions about the organization's future. Present opportunities for cost savings, efficiencies, and process improvements. This role must ensure Viking complies with tax laws and regulations specific to the industry. The position requires a high degree of accuracy and intuitive thought processes along with excellent communication skills.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4-year degree accounting, finance, economics, or BA
  • 10 years’ experience CPA or financial management experience
  • Aptitude for continuous process improvement
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
  • Merger and acquisition finance experience
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directing all aspects of accounting operations
  • Overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting
  • Serve as a financial reporter/advisor to the executive team
  • Managing and projecting cash flow short and long term.
  • Be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting
  • Oversee all sides of accounting operations, including, budgets, payables, receivables, payroll, and tax prep.
  • Be responsible for gathering financial data for analysis and forecasting with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual, quarterly, and monthly reports
  • Payroll reporting to outside agency
  • Develop a high-level understanding of Viking financial reporting
  • Manage insurance coverage for the organization, including compliance
  • Managing all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes
