2015 in Review: Our Top 5 Moments

Wow, what a year! For Viking Masek, 2015 was a year of growth, positive changes, and exciting events! As this year comes to a close, we took a moment to reflect on our top moments. We thank you for your interest and support in 2015 and look forward to an even more exciting 2016! Now lets start off New Year's Eve with a countdown of our own...

5. We expanded our team!

2015 was a year of growth in so many ways. Viking Masek expanded our workforce by 35% this year, adding positions in sales, marketing, engineering, project management, shop floor, and technical service. We are pleased to say that the retention rate for these new hires is at nearly 100%. As we continue to grow, we are still looking for more motivated, technically apt individuals to join our family. Why not start off the new year with a new career?

4. We ran (and walked) for the cure!

As part of our new company Wellness Initiative, we participated for the first time as a company team in the annual Road America Hit the Road Run/Walk to benefit the American Cancer Society. Team Viking Masek was 21 strong in the fight against cancer, and raised over $700 for the cause. It was not only a wonderful team building and wellness event, but also helped in the fight against this terrible disease. We look forward to participating in 2016!

3. We made a media splash!

Our exciting, growth-filled year caught the attention of multiple news media outlets, including The Sheboygan Press, WBAY, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, BizTimes, and Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce. Viking Masek company president Rick Leonhard was also personally interviewed for a feature article in The Business News.   

2. We expanded our building!

In early fall, we made a big announcement! Due to unprecedented growth in demand for our machinery, Viking Masek needed more room to grow at our U.S. headquarters. On Tuesday, September 22, 2015, we broke ground for our 18,000 sq. ft. expansion. The addition is an increase of roughly 50% of our existing facility, bringing the total size of our headquarters to 52,000 sq. ft. To accommodate ongoing growth, the addition is designed to increase production capabilities and will also be the home of 17 new offices. 1. We were filmed for the Discovery Channel!

Perhaps the biggest company announcement of the year came in August of 2015. Viking Masek was honored to be selected to be featured on an episode of Innovations with Ed Begley Jr. on the Discovery Channel. Over the next few months and via communications with the producer, a script and shooting schedule were created. On Tuesday, December 8, 2015, the video crew arrived! They spent the day capturing interviews with company leadership, filming our baggers in action, and even traveling to one of our nearby installations to capture our innovative machinery live at a customer's facility.
