Viking Masek Completes Expansion of Wisconsin Facility

In October 2015, Viking Masek embarked on a two phase expansion of their North and South American headquarters located in Oostburg, Wisconsin. After experiencing unprecedented growth in demand for their flexible packaging machinery, the family-owned company needed more space for both its machinery and people. With room to expand its footprint at its current location, Viking Masek added over 20,000 square feet to its current facility over the past year.

The first phase of the expansion almost doubled the size of the facility, adding 18,000 square feet of extra warehousing, manufacturing, production, storage, and office space to the north side of the building. Now home to over 17 new offices, an expansive production floor, and their new in-house gym and fitness area, the expansion has increased efficiency, production capabilities, and enhanced opportunities for employee wellness. Along with the expansion of the building, Viking Masek also expanded their outdoor gathering area, adding a brand new grill designed by North High School as part of Project G.R.I.L.L.

Approximately one year after ground broke for first phase of the facility expansion project, Viking Masek began the second phase: The addition of a dedicated sales and marketing wing to the southwest corner of the building. Now complete, the expanded area houses 16 offices, a boardroom, and a brand new customer lounge area. Additional parking was also added.

Of the project, CFO RC Huhn commented that "the expansion of our Wisconsin facility is truly a testament to our growth as a company. We began 10 years ago as a small operation with a handful of employees, and today we are a world-class packaging equipment company."
