Pack Expo 2016 Preview (Part One): Packaging Equipment Innovations

Pack Expo 2016 is less than a week away, and we're excited to share our new packaging machine innovations with you at booth S-2156. From stick packs to liquids packaging to carton packing solutions, read on for what's in store at Viking Masek's booth at Pack Expo in Chicago this year... 

What's New in Stick Packaging Machinery

One of the new packaging machines debuting at Pack Expo is Viking Masek's  new stick pack machine ST600. Featuring a 600 mm web width, a servo-driven film drawdown, the option of a cold pull station, and much more, this new machine will round out our impressive stick pack equipment assortment. 

The new stick pack ST600 machine completes Viking Masek's stick pack lineup, bringing the total to four core models: The economical ST400, the new ST600, the popular ST800, and the high-performance ST1200 that can accommodate up to twenty packaging lanes.

Rollstock film for both of our stick packaging machines is being supplied by film supplier partner Eagle Flexible Packaging.

Carton Packing Solutions for Stick Packs

Building on Viking Masek's already industry-leading packaging equipment offerings,  carton and case packing machines will also make their debut live at Pack Expo 2016. Our endload cartoner model CAM will be demonstrated as part of a Viking Masek total packaging solution with the new ST600 stick packaging machine mentioned above. After the stick packs have been formed, filled, and sealed on the ST600, they will be conveyed to the carton packing machine, counted and placed into cardboard cartons, and the cartons will then be closed and sealed with a hot glue unit. 

Truly a tote to pallet solution, you won't want to miss seeing this configuration live and in action at booth S-2156 at Pack Expo.

Clean and Accurate Liquids Packaging

Also debuting at Pack Expo in Chicago is Viking Masek's new liquid packaging machine: The Liquid Sigma. With its servo-driven squeegee sealing system, this new continuous motion bagger was designed specifically for packaging of liquids like soup, sauces, and condiments. Featuring an open, fully stainless steel design for easy sanitation and washdown, the Liquid Sigma is the liquid packaging solution. Packaging pillow bags of liquid at up to 60 bpm, this packaging machine provides vibration free, quiet, and extremely smooth packaging at all speeds.
